At Smart Start Education, our Secondary Tuition program prides itself on the following objectives:
We employ practicing Secondary School teachers.
Our staff are current practitioners employed by the DEC or CEOs. Our teachers provide educated advise on course selection within the secondary context and cater class work in light of the school assessment calendar.
We attempt to answer the 'how' and 'why' questions.
The small group structure (limit of 6 students per group) encourages students to develop a strong rapport with the teacher and his/her peers. In turn, past students have expressed the sense of security and confidence they have felt in asking questions of the tutor.
Students are offered extension; programs are not limited to a child's age.
There are no limitations placed on a child's capacity. Children who require extension have the option to enroll in programs beyond their current age/stage. (Based on assessment data)
Revise, review, reflect on learning.
Basic concepts explored at any stage within the learning continuum are never ignored. If students have questions relating to work from previous years, we value revisiting these in an attempt to deepen and extend their current understanding. We provide an opportunity for students to review class work, homework and assessments issued at school during their tutoring session.
